The weekend will be packed with music, attractions, and craft beer, culminating with viewing locations right on our gully (we will provide glasses for guests), and all around us  in downtown Sylva &   Franklin.  Don't delay - everyone is planning to head to our corner of paradise for this spectacular celestial event. and accommodations in the path of the eclipse are filling up fast!

Just for guests of Mountain Brook Lodge and Cottages, we'll be offering one of our spectacular front porch music events Sunday evening, "Swingin' on the Porch", with Lew Gelfond on fiddle,  Gary Mehalick on guitar, and, as an extra special treat, April Zace (vocals), in honor of all things celestial - "Blue Heaven".    Grab the family and Fido, and head on over to the Farmhouse at 6:30 pm - we'll have local craft beer and wine, fresh lemonade, great desserts, then  Blue Heaven will tune up and start the rockin' and stompin' at 7:00.  Swing music, mountain breakdowns and ballads, old favorites - even requests and a little calling and circle dancing, if you're in the mood.  Monday, August 21st we'll have lots of information and videos about the eclipse at the Farmhouse in the morning,  a cook-out on the porch at noon, then, at about 1:00, we'll start setting up chairs  on the gully for the main event - the full solar eclipse passing directly overhead.  If it's cloudy it will get pitch dark anyway, and we'll head inside and watch it on TV!
